Project Update (2)

Ground Grading
For Surrey Street to successfully achieve a ground grading for Step Four, seventeen issues need to be resolved. Of these seventeen, three are procedural and at least twelve are eligible for grant funding.
It should be no surprise to people that these include;

Boundary wall
Pitch perimeter
Covered seating
Changing rooms
Toilets
Floodlights

Although it will be included in the development, the existing clubhouse already satisfies the grading requirements.
Work has now begun on getting costings for all aspects of the construction phase of the project.

Planning
Now we know the options available a meeting will be arranged with the council to see what planning application, if any, will be required.

Lease Extension
Although it is not required for the ground grading directly, before we can apply for a grant from the FSIF we need to obtain an extension to the existing lease. This process was started some weeks ago and is already at an advanced stage. We hope to have further news within the next two weeks.

Funding
With support from a number of individuals, we have identified several potential sources of grant funding both at a local and national level. These sources, which are in addition to the Football Stadium Improvement Fund (FSIF), are being investigated to establish if the project meets with any of the criteria for grant aid associated with these sources.

Concurrently, we need to consider other general fundraising ideas and would look to launch initiatives in this area in the coming weeks
