Project Update (3)

There has been much activity behind the scenes relating to the Ground Development Project. We are now in a position to update everybody with details of the plan.

1) The "scrattin' shed" will be demolished and replaced with a new stand with seating for 162 people including disabled access and press facilities.

2) New changing rooms will be constructed in the area currently occupied by the equipment sheds.

3) The pitch perimeter will be replaced with an in-filled structure to meet the requirements of a Grade D ground.

4) The existing dug-outs will be demolished and replaced by bigger structures with appropriate seating.

5) The existing Clubhouse will be modified to include a new "pie hut", hospitality and outside access toilets.

6) A new clubhouse will be constructed in what will be "free space" between the existing Clubhouse and the boundary wall where the turnstiles currently are.

7) The turnstiles will be moved further along Surrey Street and integrated into a new, wider, emergency exit gate.

8) A new PA system will be installed.

9) The existing seated stand will be demolished and a new equipment store constructed in part of the "released" area.

There remains two areas which still need to be addressed, those being the Boundary Wall and Floodlighting. Expert opinion is being sought to define what needs to be done in relation to these items.

The overall project cost will be substantial. All of your help in fundraising will be necessary so that the plans can be achieved.

Volunteer labour will also be needed to keep costs to a minimum on certain aspects of the development and a schedule of work will be announced in the near future.

When all of the above is completed, the ground will be, basically, unrecognisable from what we have today and will be an excellent facility for all our stakeholders as the Football Club looks to move forward.
